Hello, we are Maria & Sandy — a husband-and-wife team based in the Algarve, Portugal.
We photograph and film weddings for couples who want their day to feel natural, emotional and beautifully observed. Our work is rooted in real moments, real connection and honest storytelling — never stiff, never overdone.
We know that being in front of a camera does not come naturally to most people. That is why our approach is calm, gentle and unobtrusive. We do not expect performances. We simply create space for you to be yourselves, and document what is already there.
Working as a team of two allows us to move through a wedding day with both sensitivity and intention — capturing the atmosphere, the in-between moments and the emotional rhythm of the day from two perspectives that work naturally together.
Whether you are getting married in the Algarve, Lisbon or elsewhere in Portugal, our intention remains the same: to create photographs and films that feel personal, timeless and true to you.
MEET MARIA
Maria brings warmth, intuition and emotional sensitivity to every wedding she photographs.
Before stepping behind the camera, she spent time in front of it, which gave her a natural understanding of movement, presence and how it feels to be seen. That experience still shapes the way she works today — with empathy, calm direction and an instinct for when to step in and when to simply observe.
She has a quiet way of helping people feel at ease, even when they are nervous or camera-shy. Her eye is drawn to subtle gestures, connection and the kind of moments that often pass unnoticed, but end up meaning the most.
Maria is also deeply drawn to old photographic processes and craftsmanship. Her love of authenticity and timeless image-making continues to shape the way she sees weddings now: honestly, emotionally and without excess.
MEET SANDY
Sandy’s connection to image-making began early, with a fascination for light, movement and the power of visual storytelling.
Working professionally for many years across photography and film, he brings a strong sense of composition, atmosphere and narrative to every wedding he documents. His background includes both analogue photography and digital filmmaking, and that balance continues to influence the way he works today — with precision, patience and intention.
Film is still at the heart of how he sees the world. He is drawn to rhythm, emotion and the small details that give a wedding film its depth and feeling. As a filmmaker and photographer, his focus is never just on how a day looked, but on how it felt to be there.
Together with Maria, he helps create a wedding experience that feels steady, personal and thoughtfully observed from beginning to end.
