Jodie & Anthony
An Intimate Elopement at Senhora da Rocha, Algarve Portugal
Jodie and Anthony travelled from Ireland to celebrate their wedding in one of the Algarve’s most iconic locations — the cliffside chapel of Senhora da Rocha, often known as Lady of the Rock.
Perched dramatically above the Atlantic Ocean, this small white chapel offers a setting that feels both timeless and deeply romantic. With only the sound of the sea and a handful of witnesses, their ceremony embraced simplicity in its most meaningful form.
They chose a focused 90-minute coverage, allowing us to document the ceremony and a relaxed portrait session along the cliffs. Even within a shorter timeframe, the setting and their connection provided extraordinary material. Sometimes it is not the length of the coverage that defines a film — but the authenticity of the moments within it.
Their celebrant, Helen, delivered a heartfelt and beautifully personal ceremony that carried warmth and sincerity throughout. The intimate scale of the day allowed every word, glance and emotion to take centre stage.
After exchanging vows next to the historic chapel, we explored the surrounding cliffs, where the Atlantic coastline opened into breathtaking views. The wind, the light and the quiet joy between them created a cinematic atmosphere that translated naturally into a five-minute wedding film filled with emotion and movement.
For couples considering an elopement in Portugal, Senhora da Rocha offers a rare combination of privacy, history and dramatic coastal beauty. Jodie and Anthony’s film is a reminder that even the most intimate celebrations — captured with intention and artistry — can feel expansive and unforgettable.
